Introducing Our Director of Youth Programs!

We’re excited to welcome Nathaniel Straub to the Camp Fire Sunshine team!

Nathaniel is a dedicated educator and current Camp Director with over 10 years of experience working closely with students. His impressive background includes serving as an Elementary Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Director of Education for both a K–12 school and a special needs school.

Nathaniel also led a STEAM-based program at an inner-city community center, where his passion for education truly shined. Under his leadership, students showed incredible growth in reading and academics—many of whom went on to graduate and pursue college or careers.

Outside of the classroom, Nathaniel is all about the outdoors. He loves camping, hiking, and creating spaces where kids can explore, grow, and build confidence through nature. As a proud parent of two young children, he brings both professional experience and personal passion to every part of his work.

We’re thrilled to have Nathaniel on board and can’t wait to see the positive impact he’ll bring to our programs!
